On Saturday 2 December 2023, Beadnell Village Christmas Lights Committee invited Seahouses inshore lifeboat and crew to switch on this year’s Festive Lights, with donations going to the RNLI.

Seahouses inshore lifeboat D-828 RNLB Grace Darling, was taken on its road trailer, to the Bull Ring at Beadnell by crew members Iain Saunders, Lynsey Carr (Water Safety Team) and crew Kika Isakiewicz.

Despite a bitter cold and frosty night, a considerable number of the onlookers had braved the cold and came over to the view the boat and speak with the crew. Iain Saunders then performed the countdown to switch on the lights, followed by applause from the onlookers.

On Sunday 3 December 2023, two members of Seahouses lifeboat crew joined some colleagues from Amble lifeboat crew, to take part in the sponsored Alnwick Santa’s Fun Run, to raise sponsorship money for the RNLI. One of the Amble crew ran as Stormy Stan!

The event was well supported with adults and youngsters running, to raise funds for various charities. An enjoyable day was had by all, despite the slight covering snow and ice, and chilly temperatures. Refreshments were available at the event base at Alnwick Rugby Club.
