Troon RNLI lifeboats launch to yacht with machinery failure
At 2.27am on Sunday 30 April 2023, the crew pagers were activated by Belfast Coastguard after reports from the crew onboard a yacht that they had experienced machinery problems to the west of Lady Isle.
The inshore lifeboat approached the casualty vessel and after consultation with those on board a tow was established with the all-weather lifeboat back to Troon.
After a successful tow, the casualty was berthed in the marina by the D class crew.
Both lifeboats then returned to station where they were made ‘ready for service’ with the assistance of the shore crew
