
Lyme Regis RNLI supporters raise record £200,000
Fundraising volunteers in Lyme Regis and Charmouth raised a record £211,377 for the life saving charity last year.
Treasurer of the supporters Ken Lavery told the meeting:"We are hopeful of another successful year in 2023 and are now busy planning Lifeboat Week, which this year runs from July 22 to 29.
"We are planning a full week of fun, games and displays for all the family including all the old favourites such as the bath tub race, crab fishing competition and the spectacular Red Devils Army parachute display team."

The RNLI charity saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts. The RNLI operates 238 lifeboat stations in the UK and Ireland and more than 240 lifeguard units on beaches around the UK and Channel Islands. The RNLI is independent of Coastguard and government and depends on voluntary donations and legacies to maintain its rescue service. Since the RNLI was founded in 1824, its lifeboat crews and lifeguards have saved over 146,000 lives.
