RNLI Clacton responds to a call for help from fishing vessel
On Friday 7 April 2023 just after 11pm, volunteer crews from the Clacton-on-Sea RNLI Lifeboat station launched due to reports of shouts of help from a fishing boat.
The volunteer crew launched their D-Class ILB (Inshore Lifeboat) into a clear but dark night with clam sea conditions and headed to the reported location approximately 300 metres from the end of Clacton Pier.
The volunteer crew drew their D-Class lifeboat alongside the fishing vessel and talked with their crew who were all found to be safe and well.
The crews were stood down by the coastguard whereby they returned to the station where the lifeboats were recovered, cleaned, refuelled and ready for service by 11.30pm.
