Both Eastbourne Lifeboats respond to a person on the water.
Both of Eastbourne's Lifeboats were paged at 19.30 on May 1 to reports of a person in the water off Eastbourne Pier.
The casualty was taken ashore and passed into the care of ambulance personnel and the Coastguard rescue helicopter's paramedic. The inshore lifeboat then collected the station doctor from the all-weather lifeboat and returned to shore.
