Busy period for RNLI Burnham-on-Crouch volunteers continues

Lifeboats News Release

Hot on the heels of Saturday evening's tasking, the busy period for the volunteers of RNLI Burnham-on-Crouch continued when at 4.35pm on Monday 13 June, they were again tasked by H.M. Coastguard this time to take over a tow from RNLI Clacton-on-Sea.

The A85 lifeboat from Burnham-on-Crouch, Tony & Robert Britt was launched and proceeded to take over the tow in the vicinity of Gunfleet Sands Offshore Wind Farm.

The casualty vessel, a motor cruiser with two people on board had suffered engine failure and the safest course of action, after assessment of the situation, was to tow it away from the area of the Wind Farm.

RNLI Burnham-on-Crouch took over the tow from Clacton-on-Sea and towed the casualty back to Burnham-on-Crouch where they dropped her off at Priors Pontoon and then returned to station where they arrived safely at 7.30pm.
