Moonlit shout for Scarborough RNLI

Scarborough RNLI was called out overnight when a fisherman experienced breathing difficulties and chest pains.

The inshore lifeboat, with a crew of three volunteers, launched at 1.16am on a calm, moonlit sea.

The fishing boat was about a mile and a half out to sea.

The casualty was transferred to the lifeboat and taken to the harbour and then the hospital.

The RNLI charity saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts.
