Simon had a stall for a few evenings last winter outside Coco Latino, a restaurant based in the Arches at Ramsgate Harbour. This is where during last year’s Ramsgate Harbour Christmas Illuminations, selling glow novelties to children as they enjoyed the spectacle of the lit up marina and boats, he got to know the owner Paul Ionescu, who is a volunteer crew member of Ramsgate RNLI.

Simon said “Having been born in Ramsgate and living by the sea for most of my life, I am delighted to be able to make the donation to support the amazing work the RNLI do”.

Simon was given a tour of the Relief Lifeboat Henry Heys Duckworth currently on duty at Ramsgate by the local RNLI Visits Team as a thank you for his kindness. Afterwards Simon made the donation of £150 to Paul who was glad to accept it on behalf of Ramsgate RNLI. Paul was accompanied by his wife Clare and their gorgeous dog Coco.

The RNLI is entirely funded by donations from the public, without whose support we would be unable to continue our role of saving lives at sea.
