Llandudno RNLI delighted to support Colwyn Bay fundraisers.

On Saturday RNLI Llandudno were pleased to join Peter and Jackie Weekes from Colwyn Bay, to support the start of a collection day at Asda Llandudno.

The day proved to be a great success with £543 raised adding to the ongoing annual total of £9,937 so far achieved by the very active Colwyn Bay fundraisers.

Lifeboat Press Officer Jonathan Coe added, ‘It was great for Alun, Simon and I to be able to bring the inshore lifeboat and help our colleagues in their fundraising efforts.’

The fundraising event was also supported by Rach Carey who was representing the ASDA Stores community initiatives.

The RNLI charity saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts. The RNLI operates 238 lifeboat stations in the UK and Ireland and more than 240 lifeguard units on beaches around the UK and Channel Islands. The RNLI is independent of Coastguard and government and depends on voluntary donations and legacies to maintain its rescue service. Since the RNLI was founded in 1824, its lifeboat crews and lifeguards have saved over 146,000 lives.
