Following the sad recent death and funeral of John 'Major' Adams, friends and family raised money to provide a memorial bench seat, which will be installed on Newbiggin promenade as well as a donation to Newbiggin RNLI.
Today, a generous cheque for £420 was presented by his friends outside the Cresswell Arms where John was a regular visitor to volunteers from the station.
Newbiggin RNLI are very grateful to John's friends and family.
