RNLI Teignmouth celebrate fantastic fortnight of fundraising efforts

From anniversary dinners to Christmas markets, bucket collections and auctions, the past fortnight has seen a brilliant £6,564 raised!

The fortnight of fundraising kicked off on Friday 26 November where Teignmouth RNLI were the chosen beneficiary of local estate agents Dart & Partners 50th Anniversary dinner, which was attended by 200 people. The celebrations included a charity auction and raffle along with a night of entertainment, taking place at Cofton Holiday Park. The event raised an amazing £4709.

The weekend success then continued Saturday 27 November where despite appalling weather conditions a credible £275 was raised at The Strand Centre Dawlish, followed by £700 raised at the Dawlish Christmas Market on Sunday 28 November.

Friday 3 December saw a team of fundraisers head out to shopping complex Trago Mills where a brilliant £430 was collected in bucket donations from the Christmas shoppers. To round off the fortnight of efforts the team braved the high winds on Sunday 3 December to attend Teignmouth Christmas Market where a further £450 was collected.

The RNLI charity saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts. The RNLI operates 238 lifeboat stations in the UK and Ireland and more than 240 lifeguard units on beaches around the UK and Channel Islands.
