Troon RNLI receives donation from Taylor Wimpey

As part of its ongoing commitment to working in partnership with local communities, Taylor Wimpey West Scotland teamed up with Troon lifeboat to confirm that it will donate £25 for each new home sold and legally completed at its new developments in Troon – Princess Gate and Queens Court.

The second tranche of £900 was donated to the charity in late March this year, which brings the overall donation paid so far to £1,925 towards the grand sum of £5,650 that has been pledged to the RNLI, with all money going directly to Troon lifeboat station.

The donation recognises a long-term relationship between Taylor Wimpey West Scotland and the RNLI with the money contributing towards the amazing life saving services the RNLI provides.

Commenting on the continuing support that it receives from Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, Urda Cotter from the RNLI said: “We are extremely grateful for the ongoing support that we have receive from Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, and we can’t thank them enough for their second generous donation. This money will be put to work locally to help us achieve the overall aim of our service to the local community. On behalf of everyone at Troon lifeboat, I would like to say a huge thank you.”

Key facts about the RNLI

The RNLI charity saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts. The RNLI operates 238 lifeboat stations in the UK and Ireland and more than 240 lifeguard units on beaches around the UK and Channel Islands. The RNLI is independent of Coastguard and government and depends on voluntary donations and legacies to maintain its rescue service. Since the RNLI was founded in 1824, its lifeboat crews and lifeguards have saved over 146,000 lives.
