Trent class all-weather lifeboat ‘RNLB Jim Moffat’ was then launched with its volunteer crew to locate and assist the yacht.

The yacht with two persons onboard was quickly found and a tow was established towards Ardrossan.

At Ardrossan harbour, the tow was transferred to the marina workboat who took the yacht into the marina where they were met by the Ardrossan Coastguard Team.

With the yacht safely berthed in the marina, the lifeboat returned to Troon where it was made ‘ready for service’ with assistance of the shore crew.
