Haven and the RNLI raise £173,000 and help families enjoy safe holidays in 2019
Leading UK holiday park company, Haven, is celebrating a successful second year of its national charity partnership with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), having raised £173,000 during 2019.
Haven teams also enthusiastically joined both the RNLI’s flagship Mayday campaign to fund lifeboat crew kit and the Fish Supper fundraiser in October, decking out park restaurants in RNLI colours to host quizzes and inviting local lifeboat crews along for fish and chip dinners.
As well as raising money for the charity, the partners also continued to help Haven’s 2.9 million annual holidaymakers enjoy safe, happy holidays by sharing the RNLI’s water safety advice.
Together, they taught over 7,500 children how to stay safe by the sea through their fun RNLI Water Smart outdoor activity. Haven also featured RNLI safety messages in its pre-arrival emails to all guests.
Sarah Chapman, Head of Marketing at Haven, says:
“Our teams and guests had a blast creating fun and inventive ways to support our amazing charity partners, the RNLI, last year.
“The partnership is a perfect fit, with both organisations connected by our beautiful British coastline. By welcoming the RNLI’s local lifesavers to our parks, we have seen the difference we can make in helping the RNLI save lives.”
Ross Martin, Corporate Manager for the RNLI, adds:
“It was amazing to see Haven’s teams engaging so enthusiastically with the RNLI last year. They have brought fun and imagination to raising much-needed money for the RNLI at a time when our lifesavers are busier than ever, all-year-round.
“This year, we plan to grow our partnership to help families enjoy safe, happy holidays by including beach safety messages in all Haven welcome packs.”
Since the start of the brand’s partnership with the charity which began in March 2018, Haven has raised a staggering £300,000 to help the RNLI save lives at sea.
