Padstow and Newquay RNLI volunteers bring charter passengers to safety

Newquay's RNLI lifeboat volunteers were paged at 8.28pm on Friday 31 July and worked with colleagues from Padstow Lifeboat for the second time in two days, to assist a charter vessel which had suffered engine failure five miles south of Trevose Head.

Newquay RNLI lifeboat crew land passengers from stranded charter vessel

The crew of Padstow all-weather lifeboat towed the stranded boat, crew and eight passengers into Newquay Bay, where she was moored due to a low tide. Newquay's RNLI crew on the charity's D class inshore lifeboat then transferred the passengers into Newquay Harbour, where they were all safely ashore at South Quay by 9.50pm.
