Calshot RNLI Atlantic 85 Lifeboat launches to aid 47ft yacht
Calshot RNLI Atlantic 85 Lifeboat 'Max Walls' was tasked by the HM Coastguard on Friday 3 May at 4.38pm to a 47ft yacht that was hard aground on Bramble Bank.
Unsure of whether the Atlantic 85 Lifeboat would be able to get close enough to the yacht in the shallow water, Calshot RNLI's D Class Lifeboat was made ready for immediate launch.
On arrival at the scene the volunteer crew were able to get the Atlantic 85 Lifeboat close enough to perform an astern tow and pull the yacht clear of the sandbank.
With the persons on board happy and the vessel undamaged they were able to continue on their way.
The RNLI crew returned the Atlantic 85 Lifeboat to station and the D Class Lifeboat was able to stand down.
