Newbiggin Lifeboat Day 2019
Preparations for this year's lifeboat day are well advanced thanks to the work of the volunteer team.
The very popular 'Blessing' will take place in the lifeboat station at 3.00pm with the service undertaken by Newbiggin lifeboat Chaplain. The lifeboat blessing is an established tradition in the lifeboat calendar here with the service very much as a preamble to next weekend's Lifeboat Day. Refreshments will be served in the lifeboat station after the blessing.
The following Sunday 28th July 2019 sees Newbiggin Lifeboat Day getting underway at 1.30pm with a variety of stalls and attractions in and around the lifeboat station. There will be displays and demonstrations undertaken by the lifeboat subject to operational demands throughout the afternoon.
For those wishing to enjoy a selection of home made cakes and scones the boathouse will be serving these along with hot and cold drinks. Stalls include coffee and tea, tombola, souvenirs, bric a brac, kids rides with lots of other entertainment on the day.
Throughout the afternoon there will also be live entertainment with West Coast Band and Steel-By-The-Sea
Please come along and give us your support for our major fundraising day. There is ample free parking at Church Point next to Newbiggin Maritime Centre and this promises to be a busy day for our coastal community with a variety of events taking place.
