Single hander's yacht with shredded sails brought into Dartmouth by RNLI

The Falmouth Coastguard tasked the Salcombe RNLI Tamar lifeboat to tow the six tonne vessel towards Dartmouth and then to hand over the tow to the Dart B class inshore lifeboat crew. The tow was transferred south east of Blackpool Sands. The single handed sailor had left Plymouth two days before and had met high winds in the Channel which shredded his sails.
The yacht was towed to the Town Jetty in Dartmouth Harbour and was met by the Dartmouth Coastguard Search and Rescue team.
