Tenterden Ladies Lions Club raise funds for Dungeness RNLI

Two of the lady members of the Tenterden Ladies Lions Club came along with their husbands to the lifeboat station here at Dungeness RNLI today and presented a cheque for £508.70p.

The Tenterden Ladies Lions Club has been in existence for over 61 years and these amazing ladies work tirelessly holding raffles, clothes sales, nearly new sales, bacon butties mornings and even tea parties to raise tremendous amounts of money to give to charities.

The RNLI charity saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts. The RNLI operates 238 lifeboat stations in the UK and Ireland and more than 240 lifeguard units on beaches around the UK and Channel Islands. The RNLI is independent of Coastguard and government and depends on voluntary donations and legacies to maintain its rescue service.
