Community Fundraisers Add to RNLI Festive Dip Total

Local Rhyl fundraising group 'Belief' presented a cheque from sponsorship for taking part in the Festive Dip to the Rhyl Lifeboat volunteers last tuesday.

The local Belief fundraisers joined the crew at their meeting point, the Cob and Pen, after last Tuesday nights exercise, where they presented a cheque of £1322 to Coxswain Martin Jones.

Belief is a local fundraising group who raise money for local people and causes. They now have 78 members and actively take part in fundraising activities from holding pub quizzes to doing triathlons.

This year was our 4th year of doing the dip. In our 1st year there was 6 of us, and each year the team grows with 20 of us taking part . We all embraced the team spirit dressed as pirates to raise funds for our local Lifeboat Station. We managed to raise £1322.00. We are looking forward to next year and have already decided on our outfits!'

Rhyl Lifeboat Coxswain, Martin Jones said 'Belief have been a big support not just to the station but the whole community. We'd like to thank all the members for their fantastic fundraising efforts, and look forward to seeing what their fancy dress theme is at next years dip!'

The RNLI charity saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts. The RNLI operates over 238 lifeboat stations in the UK and Ireland and, in a normal year, more than 240 lifeguard units on beaches around the UK and Channel Islands.
