Multi-service rescue for person stuck in the mud at Ashlett Creek
At 8.25am Sunday 4 August, Calshot RNLI Lifeboat Station was alerted to a boat aground at Ashlett Creek, with further concerns for one of the three persons on board who had attempted to walk to the shore and had become stuck in the mud.
Once free from the mud, the casualty was taken to shore by the RNLI lifeboat where Hill Head and Southampton Coastguard Rescue teams where on scene and able to take over care of the casualty, who is now safe and well.
Calshot RNLI D Class Lifeboat then returned to station where it, and the volunteer crew, were washed down.
Just after midday, Calshot RNLI Atlantic Lifeboat 'Max Walls' was sent to recover the vessel with the incoming tide. The crew were able to pull the boat from it's position and use an alongside tow to return it safely to Ashlett Sailing Club.
The RNLI Lifeboat then returned to station where it was made ready again for service.
