Fine fishy fundraiser in Newcastle to help the RNLI save lives at sea
Lifesaving charity, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) has teamed up with the Jesmond Dene House Hotel in Newcastle to offer an evening of fine food, fish and fun at a Fish Supper – as part of the RNLI’s national foodie fundraising event of the autumn.
The evening will take place on Friday 19 October and tickets cost £80 per head. The night will feature a specially designed ‘fish dinner’ created by its new chef, Danny Parker.*
Diners can expect great food, as well as some inspirational guest speakers and the chance to win some great prizes in the raffle.
Helen Loynes, Community Fundraising Manager for the RNLI in the North East said: ‘We’d like to thank the hotel for all their support and we’re really looking forward to the event. Money raised will go towards supporting our charity’s brave volunteer crews to ensure that they can continue to save lives at sea. We hope that lots of people will come along to enjoy themselves for a great cause.’
Leanne Cheek, General Manager of the hotel added: ‘We are delighted to support the RNLI’s Fish Supper fundraising campaign with an event at Jesmond Dene House Hotel. Our new head chef, Danny Parker, formerly of Michelin Star Restaurant House of Tides, is looking forward to launching this exclusive fish menu. We know it will be a fantastic evening!’
Tickets can be purchased by calling the hotel events team on 0191 212 3000. Tickets can be bought individually or people can team up with friends, family and colleagues to book a table.
The RNLI relies on the generosity of the public to fund its lifesaving services. The charity’s volunteer lifeboat crew members often sacrifice their precious meal times and special occasions at a moment’s notice, answering the call of their pagers to help those in need on the water.
