Volunteer Deputy Press Officer needed at Barmouth RNLI
As the volunteers prepare to open a new chapter in the station’s 190 year history, Barmouth RNLI are searching for a good communicator to help spread the word of station activities within the local media and across the station’s social media channels.
Barmouth lifeboat crew are searching for a volunteer Deputy Lifeboat Press Officer to help support the station’s Lifeboat Press Officer in publicising all aspects of station activities. The role involves building and maintaining friendly relationships with local press, radio, television and online media. Keeping the local community informed of operational activity, promoting newsworthy rescues and events helps raise the station’s profile, which in turn help’s the volunteer fundraisers raise money to keep the lifesaving service going.
As the new Shannon all-weather lifeboat is due to arrive at Barmouth next year, it’s a very exciting time to join the crew. This is a good opportunity to join a motivated and enthusiastic local team and have the satisfaction of contributing to saving lives at sea. Full training will be provided as part of the role.

‘The Deputy Lifeboat Press Officer will be a vital role in helping to publicise the station’s activities. Working with the Lifeboat Press Officer, this person will help to inform the public of lifeboat services as well as help publicise fundraising events across all media channels. Sharing and helping people to understand our safety messages is vital to saving lives at sea.’
