Walmer RNLI welcomes comedy star

Accompanied by his wife, Nancy Sorrell and their two children, Mr Moir spent time chatting to lifeboat volunteers, who had just returned from an exercise, about their duties and showed a keen interest in their work.

A long-time supporter of Walmer’s lifeboat, he has raised funds for the charity organisation by taking part in a speed drawing event at The Smuggler’s Record Store in Deal and by donating his fee from DJing at an event held in Ramsgate.

Mr Moir will be returning to town on 26 May when he and Nancy will be opening the Deal Classic Motor Show. The event is supporting RNLI Walmer lifeboat.

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution is the charity that saves lives at sea. Our volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service in the United Kingdom and Ireland from 237 lifeboat stations, including four along the River Thames and inland lifeboat stations at Loch Ness, Lough Derg, Enniskillen and Lough Ree.
