Due to the dogs’ location at sea level, Peel RNLI’s all-weather lifeboat Ruby Clery was launched at 1.00pm, in fair weather conditions, to offer assistance to coastguards who were already on scene one mile south of Peel.

Once on location the volunteer crew were informed that a group of kayakers had recovered the dog into their kayaks and were taking it to Glen Maye beach to re-unite it with their owner. At this time Peel RNLI were stood down and returned to station arriving back in Peel at 2.30pm.

Speaking following the call out, Peel RNLI Mechanic / Coxswain Paul Cain said “The owner of the dog did the right thing in calling the Coastguard and asking for assistance.”
