Moelfre RNLI Inshore Lifeboat Crew assist in rescue of two children.
Moelfre Inshore Lifeboat was launched at 15:04 this afternoon, after H.M Coastguard received reports of two children in an inflatable, that were drifting offshore at Traeth yr Ora.
The RNLI volunteer crew quickly arrived on the scene to discover that their father (a non-swimmer), had attempted to wade out but found that the water was too deep. Two female family members then swam out to the inflatable and managed to get both the children and the inflatable, back onto the beach.
The two females were suffering from cold water immersion, having been in the water for 20 minutes, the Lifeboat Crew and Coastguard team spent 30 warming the two adult swimmers. No further medical intervention was required.
The two children and their father remained at Traeth yr Ora. The two female family members who swam out to the inflatable, were then taken by the Inshore Lifeboat to Traeth Lligwy, where a Coastguard vehicle was waiting for them.
