It had been reported that someone had been seen jumping over the wall on the Anglesey side of the Britannia Bridge. In addition to the lifeboat the incident was attended by Bangor and Penmon Mobile Coastguard Rescue Teams, police officers from the north Wales police and the coastguard rescue helicopter.

Despite an extensive search nothing was found and at 9.44 pm permission was given by the U.K. Coastguard for the Beaumaris lifeboat to return to station.

It is now suspected that the perpetrator may have landed on a small ledge near the bridge wall and made his way back on to Anglesey.

The lifeboat arrived back at Beaumaris at 9.55 pm being washed down, refuelled and prepared for her next service call by 10.29 pm.
