Mayday brings the pupils out to support Blyth RNLI
Pupils of Beaconhill Primary School put on their wellies to support the RNLI with a sponsored walk
It seemed very apt for the pupils to be raising funds for the RNLI on the 1 May otherwise known as May Day.
All the pupils from the Cramlington School from Nursery through to Year 6 took part in the sponsored walk, which also saw the staff join in too.
The younger children walked 1 mile and children from Key Stage 2 walked 2 miles.
Volunteer RNLI Crew Member Robin Palmer joined the children on the walk and said; 'We as a Station have a fantastic relationship with the staff and pupils of Beaconhill Primary School and we are delighted that they have used their sponsored walk to raise money to fund new crew kit which is a campaign the RNLI is running for the month of May.'
Mr Robinson, Deputy Headteacher said; 'It was great to see all the children their wellies and also wearing yellow to support our local RNLI lifeboat station.They have enjoyed visiting the station and meeting the volunteer crew and also learning how to stay safe around the coast.We as a school are only too delighted to support the work that they do with our sponsored walk.'
