Afternoon tea raises £1,154 for Scarborough RNLI
Millinophiles – hat lovers – were in their element at an afternoon tea at the Crown Spa Hotel in Scarborough.
It was organised by Scarborough Ladies Lifeboat Guild and raised £1,154.
Guild member Judith Hargreaves said: “The Crown donated everything - 100 afternoon teas, three raffle prizes, vouchers for their gym, an afternoon tea voucher and the favours, which were purple boxes of sweets on the tables.
“Thanks to Andrew and his team for excellent service and delicious afternoon tea, Heavenly Coffee Company who donated a hamper and favours, and the Palm Court who donated an afternoon-tea voucher”.
Businesses which support the guild throughout the year, including Boyes, Proudfoot and Cosmetique, were represented.
The guild is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year.
