Returning immediately to the harbour, with the good weather and little or no swell on the water the dog was quickly located by the inner Leading Light and taken aboard the lifeboat.

Casualty care applies be the casualty human or canine, and the 15 year old dog was quickly dried off and wrapped in a blanket, to then be returned to its grateful owner who was waiting by Fort Anne Jetty.

Having made sure all was well with both dog and owner the volunteer crew then resumed their exercise.
