Young man's life saved by Cullercoats RNLI
On Tuesday 20th March 2018, Cullercoats Lifeboat crew were paged at 4:55pm to reports of a person in difficulty in Cullercoats Bay.
The casualty was then taken back to the lifeboat station to be checked over and was found to be severely hypothermic. The crew administered first aid and worked to warm the casualty until the North East Ambulance Service arrived a few minutes later.
The casualty was taken to hospital to be checked over and cared for and the Cullercoats crew washed down and prepared for service once again. We wish the casualty a speedy recovery.
All of the crew at Cullercoats are volunteers and are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, ready to save lives at sea.
