Dungeness lifeboat tasked to assist in multi-agency search for missing diver
On Monday 12 March at 4pm, the UK Coastguard tasked the Dungeness lifeboat to join an on-going search for a missing diver off St. Margaret’s Bay together with Dover and Walmer RNLI lifeboats and two SAR rescue helicopters from Lydd and Lee-On-Solent.
Once on scene Coxswain Stuart Adams in command of the RNLI Shannon class lifeboat 13-02 ‘the Morrell’ and her volunteer crew commenced extensive parallel box searches of the entire area, but sadly no one was found. The search was called off at 9.35pm and the lifeboat returned to station, refuelled and made ready for service by 11pm.
