Milnthorpe Ladies Challenged To Dress Up And Catch A Bus For Lifeboats
Three friends from Milnthorpe decided, during a New Year party, to make the most of the fancy dress costumes that they had made for the occasion by raising much needed funds for the RNLI; the charity that saves lives at sea.
Challenged to wear their costumes whilst travelling by public transport, the intrepid trio sought sponsorship from family and friends; raising over £471. The ladies then travelled by service bus to Morecambe, collecting a further £12 from members of the public during the journey, before presenting the fruits of their efforts to Morecambe RNLI Deputy Launching Authority, Harry Roberts MBE, in Morecambe hovercraft station.
Harry said ‘We are very grateful to the ladies for this marvellous donation and we can assure them that it will be used to enable us to continue saving lives.’
