Toast the Coast Food Tours gets onboard with Larne RNLI
Larne company Toast The Coast Food Tours has today (Friday 15 June) pledged its support to Larne RNLI this summer, while celebrating the beautiful coastline along the Antrim Coast Road.
Toast the Coast is a food tour along the world-famous Causeway Coastal route, showcasing the towns and villages with tasty local food. The experience allows customers to indulge in a range of hand-reared, hooked and harvested food from the best of local award-winning producers, whilst enjoying the beautiful Antrim coastline.
As the tour starts in Belfast, heading north along the Antrim Coast Road, passing two RNLI stations, Larne and Red Bay, it is fitting that Toast the Coast selected the RNLI as its official charity. Toast the Coast will make a donation to Larne RNLI for every booking made by local and international visitors.
Portia Woods, founder of Toast The Coast Food Tours said: 'This is an excellent opportunity to toast the Antrim coastline and at the same time, recognise and support the work of Larne RNLI through raising vital funds for our local volunteers'.
The RNLI relies on public donations to maintain its 24/7 rescue service. The donations will help raise funds for essential lifeboat crew kit.
Allan Dorman, Larne RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager said: 'The summer season is traditionally our busiest time of the year, so these generous donations will ensure our volunteer crew can face the harshest conditions with the best kit possible.
'Our relationship with Toast the Coast Food Tours is a brilliant opportunity to help fund this kit and raise the profile of the RNLI with international visitors to our coastline.'
