Troon RNLI lifeboats launch to person in the water at Ayr

Lifeboats News Release

At 10.14pm on Sunday 8 July 2018, the pagers of Troon lifeboat crew were activated by Belfast Coastguard after reports of a person in the water at Ayr.

The crew attended launching the Trent class all-weather lifeboat RNLB Jim Moffat and D class inshore lifeboat Sheena. Also tasked were the Ayr and Ardrossan Coastguard Rescue teams.

While the lifeboats were proceeding to Ayr information came through from Belfast Coastguard that the person was now ashore and the lifeboats could stand down.

Both lifeboats then returned to station where they were made ‘Ready for Service’ with the assistance of the shore crew.
