Beaumaris lifeboat launched to a reported incident near Church Island.
The U.K.Coastguard at Holyhead received a report that two people appeared to be in difficulties near Church Island by Menai Bridge. In addition to deploying the Bangor Coastguard Rescue team they also requested that the volunteers of the Beaumaris Lifeboat launch.
The pagers of the Beaumaris Lifeboat volunteers sounded at 11.37 am with the Inshore Atlantic 85 Lifeboat Annette Mary Liddington launching at 11.46 am.
When the lifeboat arrived at the scene it transpired that two Stand up Paddle Boarders had gone ashore for a break and they did not require any assistance both being fully equipped.
In view of this the lifeboat was returned to her station arriving at 12.14 pm and being cleaned and refuelled by 12.45 pm.
A spokesman for the lifeboat crew said “This was a call made with good intent and it is better for us to investigate rather than no action being taken if you suspect someone is in difficulties”.
