The Crown Jewels - Skegness RNLI receives sparkling support
Local business, the Crown Hotel showed that they're real gems by raising valuable funds for the RNLI in Skegness.
Staff and customers at the Crown Hotel on Drummond Road, Skegness raised the terrific sum of £400 over the festive period by holding a Christmas raffle at the hotel on Christmas eve, with prizes donated to by the businesses suppliers.
Manager Amy Basker explained why they donated to the RNLI, she said: 'I always ask my staff if there are any charities close to their heart, this year we settled on two charities, the RNLI and Skegness Carnival.'
Amy and her Hotel Supervisor Abby Rawlings popped along to have a look round the lifeboat station's state of the art Shannon class all-weather lifeboat Joel and April Grunnill and present members of crew and members of the fundraising team, all volunteers for the charity at it's Skegness station on Tower Esplanade.
Volunteer crew James Porter helped receive the cheque on behalf of the crew and explained: 'It's really great to be able to meet the people who work hard to raise money for us, it's nice to be able to say 'thank you' in person.'
