Contractor named to build new Burry Port RNLI Lifeboat Station

Work on the new station begins in early March, which will include the demolition of the old Harbourmaster building, to ensure public access to the eastern seafront at Burry Port is available to the public, and a safety perimeter will be placed around the building site to keep the general public safe.

Mark Bowen, Managing Director of Andrew Scott Ltd stated:

'We are delighted to have secured this contract to provide a modern, new facility for the RNLI which will enable the volunteer crews to continue to protect the immediate community of Burry Port, and the wider Swansea Bay region, for many years to come.

'Burry Port will be our third project and as a long-established local contractor, we are extremely proud to continue our partnership with the RNLI.'

'We can now look forward to seeing the new lifeboat station become a reality, and with the confidence that the construction work will be carried out by a very dedicated company, with great experience that Andrew Scott Ltd can offer. Their meticulous planning shows that they are also very aware of the requirement to satisfy local needs with a careful approach to the logistics needed to support the construction.'

The building work is expected to be complete by the end of 2018, and the new facility will be operational by March 2019.
