Berwick's newest addition to the lifeboat family

Toby was born on the 27 January 2018 coming in at a grand weight of 11lbs. His mum Louise said: ‘I thought Toby already had his lifejacket on, with the weight of him when he was born.'

Father Robert brought Toby along to introduce him to the station. He was sporting his very own uniform which had been knitted by Deputy Head Launcher Debbie Robertson.

Robert who has been with Berwick RNLI for 28 years said: ‘His name is on the list already for joining our great crew.'

For every volunteer crew member of our lifeboats which operate 24/7 365 days of the year, no matter what time day or night when the pagers go off, when the lifeboat is launched to go out on a rescue, a family serves alongside them, till their safe return.

Everyone was pleased that there was no shout when Louise went into labour and Robert was able to be by her side to see his son safely delivered.

Everyone at Berwick RNLI congratulates Robert, Louise and their other four children, on the arrival of Toby to the lifeboat family, and wishes them all the very best for the future.
