Tobermory Severn Class Lifeboat

The Tobermory Lifeboat had been requested to launch, to assist a fishing vessel with 3 crew on board experiencing mechanical difficulties four nautical miles south of Arinagour of the coast of Coll.

On arrival shortly after 3:30am a tow was established ready for the journey back to Tobermory. An uneventful journey on a dark morning with pleasant weather and flat seas.

Once back in Tobermory harbour the tow was released and the casualty vessel went along side under its own power, while the Tobermory Lifeboat stood by until their lines were secured. With the vessel safely alongside the volunteer crew of the Tobermory Lifeboat returned to the berth where it was made ready for service at 6:40am.

Crew: David Mchaffie (Coxswain), Creon Carmichael (Mechanic), Tony Spillane, Iain Malcolm, Alec Brown, Iain MacKenzie, Michael Stirling.
