Day Lewis Pharmacy supporting Eastbourne Lifeboats

Staff at the Eastbourne branch of Day Lewis Pharmacy held a fun day back in the balmy days of June with Eastbourne lifeboats chosen as the favoured charity for donations received.

The event included such things as guessing the amount of sweets in a jar and naming a teddy bear, along with homemade produce supplied by staff and customers raised a substantial amount of money which was more than doubled by the company’s head office to a grand total of £1336. The cheque was presented to Lifeboat Treasurer Keith Stevens and some of the crew by shop manager Rinita Dangol and staff members Kirstie Francis, Rosemary Reid and Alex Moss

The RNLI charity saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts. The RNLI operates 238 lifeboat stations in the UK and Ireland and more than 240 lifeguard units on beaches around the UK and Channel Islands. The RNLI is independent of Coastguard and government and depends on voluntary donations and legacies to maintain its rescue service. Since the RNLI was founded in 1824, its lifeboat crews and lifeguards have saved over 146,000 lives.
