Person thrown from horse on Seahouses beach
At 4:40pm on Wednesday 1 August 2018, UK Coastguard requested to launch of Seahouses inshore lifeboat, to assist a person thrown from a horse near the water line on St Aidan's beach, just north of Seahouses.
The tide was rising, and the person had suspected serious shoulder and spinal injuries. The ambulance requested assistance as their resources were some distance away. The local Coastguard Team had also been tasked to the scene, and were also in the process of responding. The inshore lifeboat (ILB) crew were paged, launched and made best speed to the scene.
They were about to commence casualty care treatment as paramedics arrived on the scene. The crew then assisted the paramedics to stabilise the casualty and together with local coastguards, to carefully transfer the casualty to a stretcher, and then on to the ambulance. Once this was safely done, the ILB returned to station. The RNLI have no information as to the casualty's identity or condition.
