Lifeboat Fundraising Weekend - Golf and Tea

Two events are to be held over the forthcoming May bank holiday weekend to raise funds for Newbiggin RNLI.

The first event is the very popular Annual Newbiggin Golf Club Lifeboat Day on Friday 4th May 2018. To book a tee time call the Golf Club on 01670 817344 and speak to the Golf Club Pro. The entry fee is £10 per person or £5 for members.

On the afternoon of Sunday 6th May 2018 the Newbiggin RNLI fundraising team are holding a Tea and Coffee event in the lifeboat station. The door are open from 1.00pm until 4.00pm with refreshments and other items for sale.

Key facts about the RNLI

The RNLI charity saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts. The RNLI operates over 238 lifeboat stations in the UK and Ireland and, in a normal year, more than 240 lifeguard units on beaches around the UK and Channel Islands. The RNLI is independent of Coastguard and government and depends on voluntary donations and legacies to maintain its rescue service. Since the RNLI was founded in 1824, its lifeboat crews and lifeguards have saved over 142,700 lives.
