Criccieth RNLI Lifeboats launch following report of overdue kayaker
At 4.30pm on April 23rd, 2018 volunteer Crew Members from Criccieth's RNLI Lifeboat Station were tasked by HM Coastguard to search for a kayaker reported overdue at their rendezvous point at Portmeirion.
The Station's Atlantic 85 Lifeboat, Doris Joan, launched from Criccieth into heavy seas whilst the Station's inshore rescue boat, Margaret a Nantw, was transported by road to be launched closer to Portmeirion. As the Atlantic 85 Lifeboat made its way across the bay, the kayaker was spotted from land and safely made it ashore. Both boats were stood down and returned to the Station.
