A busy start to the summer for North Berwick lifeboat crew.

North Berwick Volunteer lifeboat crew launched twice on Wednesday 11 April, to persons stranded by the tide, then reports of a person in the water.
North Berwick RNLI inshore lifeboat Evelyn M launched at 1.20pm to a report of 4-5 persons cut off by the tide on The Leithies at North Berwick. The volunteer crew of 3 headed straight to the area and were informed by North Berwick Coastguard Rescue Team that the casualties had waded to shore. The lifeboat was stood down and returned to station.
As the afternoon progressed the weather deteriorated. At 6.37pm Evelyn M was again requested to launch, this time to attend Gullane Bay as a man had been seen walking into the water. A volunteer crew of 3 set off in challenging conditions. They arrived on scene and carried out a shoreline search. North Berwick Coastguard Rescue team had been able to ascertain that the male seen had been wearing a wetsuit and had later made it back to shore. North Berwick lifeboat was stood down and returned to station.
