RNLI Pwllheli Lifeboat launched to search for missing teenager
Pwllheli Lifeboat Volunteers launched to assist Abersoch Lifeboat and UK Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 936 in search for a missing teenager
The request was received by Holyhead Coastguard to conduct a shoreline search starting from Gimblet Rock in Pwllheli, along the shore to the Warren at Abersoch. Alongside Pwllheli Lifeboat were the coastguard team from Abersoch & Criccieth, conducting the search from the shore while Abersoch Lifeboat concentrated on the search at the Warren and towards Abersoch.
Approximately 30 minutes into the search, we received an update from the coastguard to inform us that the teenager had been found safe and well ashore and we were then asked to stand down.
The boat was back at the boathouse and ready for service at approximately 04:30.
Clive Moore, Coxswain mentioned that it was “Imperative that we launched as quickly as we possibly could due to the nature of the call. We were all relieved that the boy was found safe and well and we had a successful outcome”
