RNLI Invergordon launched to fallen walker on remote beach.

The RNLI Invergordon lifeboat crew were paged to launch at 2.05 pm, launching their Trent Class lifeboat, 'Douglas Aikman Smith' quickly by the request of Aberdeen Coastguard, to a 77-year-old male who had a fall from a small cliff on a remote beach, around 5km north of Balintore.

Making best speed towards the casualty’s location, the crew began the preparation for the inflatable daughter craft to be deployed once on scene.

Once arrived on scene the crew launched the XP-Boat with 3 crew to attend alongside the local Coastguard team from Portmahomack as well as Scottish Ambulance Paramedics who were also on scene

Coastguard Helicopter Rescue 951 from Dalcross was also responding who landed minutes later and the injured man was assessed before being taken on board to transported to Raigmore Hospital for further treatment.

The crew recovered the XP-Boat and made way back to the Invergordon West Harbour Berth where the boat was refuelled and made ready for service by 4.25pm
