Good cod! Rhyl RNLI fish supper success

Rhyl RNLI volunteers held their first fish supper to help raise funds towards their new Shannon class lifeboat. The event took place on Saturday 25th November 2017 at Rhyl Lifeboat Station.

Over 60 guests were welcomed to the lifeboat station and enjoyed fish and chips donated by some of the town’s takeaways. During the event the guests had a talk on Rhyl Lifeboat and the future developments of the station, were shown a video showcasing the work the volunteers do from saving lives at sea, fundraising and supporting the local community. The visitors also had the chance to go on aboard and have a guided tour of the all-weather lifeboat.

The evening raised £380 towards the new Shannon class lifeboat to be stationed at Rhyl RNLI Lifeboat Station.

Rhyl RNLI Coxswain Martin Jones says: 'We would like to thank everyone who came to visit our boathouse on Saturday evening. We hope you enjoyed the event and are looking forward to the next one.'

He continues, 'A special thanks goes out to Les & Rita's, The Town Fryer, The Galleon and Aslans fish and chip shops for kindly donating the food for the night without their support the Fish Supper wouldn’t have been possible. And also a thanks to Antonio's Ices for donating the proceeds of their Ice Cream sales to the evening, it may have been freezing cold but we all enjoyed the treat, especially the crew!'
