
Cambridge Motor Boat Club donation to Ramsgate RNLI
On the weekend of 17th-19th. March 2017 40 members of the Cambridge Motor Boat Club, along with 10 members of the Denver Cruising Club visited Ramsgate, staying at the town's Comfort Inn Hotel.
During Saturday evening a raffle was held raising £200.00. The money was presented to Ray Noble, Ramsgate RNLI's Lifeboat Operations Manager, at the RNLI shop on Sunday morning by Sid Fisher a member of Cambridge Motor Boat Club who organised the weekend on behalf of members and friends. The RNLI charity saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts. The RNLI operates 238 lifeboat stations in the UK and Ireland and more than 240 lifeguard units on beaches around the UK and Channel Islands. The RNLI is independent of Coastguard and government and depends on voluntary donations and legacies to maintain its rescue service. Since the RNLI was founded in 1824, its lifeboat crews and lifeguards have saved over 146,000 lives.
