Oban lifeboat launches to yacht in difficulty
Oban lifeboat launched this afternoon (Saturday 15 July) to assist a yacht with engine and steering failure east of Insh Island.
The lifeboat departed Oban making best speed in deteriorating weather, locating the vessel by 3.38pm. A motor cruiser Midnight Caller had been standing by until the lifeboat's arrival on scene. The yacht was soon taken under tow by the lifeboat for Oban and brought safely alongside at Oban Marina by 5.08pm.
Oban lifeboat was back at her berth, refuelled and ready for service again by 5.30pm. Our thanks to the motor cruiser Midnight Caller for standing by.
